Chromium is a very common metal. It is found in the Earth's crust. A small amount of chromium makes rubies look red. People use chromium in paints and to make things shiny. This is called electroplating.

Molybdenum is also useful. It helps make steel very hard. It can be used in heaters for large furnaces. It also helps support the thin wires in light bulbs.

Tungsten is a very special metal. It has a very high melting point. In fact, it has the highest melting point of all metals. This makes it great for tools that face high heat.

Seaborgium is different from the others. It is a synthetic element. This means it does not occur in nature. Scientists must make it in a lab. They make it by hitting atoms with other tiny particles. This creates the new metal.
