His skill was so high that he was named one of the "100 Greatest NHL Players" in 2017. He truly changed how people thought a forward should play.

Howe's way of playing was very special and unique. He was an ambidextrous player, which is a rare skill in hockey. This means he could use his stick to shoot both left-handed and right-handed. He was also a very strong skater who could dominate other players. One famous way people remember his style is the "Gordie Howe hat trick."

This is not a normal hat trick involving three goals. Instead, it means a player records one goal, one assist, and one fight in a single game. Although he only did this twice, the name stuck to honor his style.

His long journey in hockey began in a farmhouse in Saskatchewan, Canada.
