When you swallow a cyst, it enters your stomach. Then it moves to the small intestine. The acid in your body makes the cyst release the trophozoites. These tiny bugs then feed and make more of themselves. This can cause giardiasis. This sickness makes your belly hurt. It can also cause watery stools and make you feel very tired.
