A group called APOPO trains these rats. They start training at four weeks old. The rats learn to find a smell. They get a banana treat for finding it. They also help find sickness. They sniff samples to find tuberculosis. This is a disease that can make people sick. The rats are very fast at this. They can test 100 samples in 20 minutes. This is much faster than a lab.
