He was a leader in his field of study. He even helped decide which students were ready to become experts. He was highly respected by other scientists around the world.

Akhatov did a lot of hard work in the field of dialectology. This is the study of how people speak in different places. He went on many trips called expeditions to listen to people. He looked at the sounds and the words they used. He also looked at how they built their sentences. One big thing he found was how sounds can change. He noticed that some people merged the sounds "tch" and "ts" together. He believed this happened because of the Kipchak language.

He worked very hard to earn his degrees. He earned his first Ph.D. in 1954. Later, he earned a second doctorate in 1965. He became a professor in 1970. He lived from September 8, 1927, until November 25, 1986. His life was full of learning and teaching. He helped create new ways for scientists to study language together.

Akhatov wrote many important books and papers. He wrote about 200 scientific papers during his life. One of his most famous books is a dictionary from 1982. This book is called the "Phraseological Dictionary of the Tatar Language." He also wrote a book about the West Siberian Tatars in 1963. He studied people in the Omsk and Tyumen Oblasts. He found that their language was very ancient. He even divided the Siberian Tatar dialects into Eastern and Western groups. He was very good at organizing this information for others.

His work connects to the way we understand our own voices. By studying how sounds change, he showed how languages grow. He taught over 40 people how to become science experts. This helped his knowledge live on through his students. He even won medals like the "Medal for Labour Valour."
