He is best known for making stories that feel dark and gritty. His art style is special because it mixes two different worlds. He combined the look of American comics with the style of Japanese manga. Miller wanted to create a hybrid that was not too wordy like some English books. He also did not want them to feel too empty like some Japanese ones. This unique way of drawing and writing changed how many people see graphic novels today.

Miller's career started with small steps and a lot of hard work.

He first worked for a company called Western Publishing. After that, he moved to New York City to find more work. He even showed his art samples to a famous artist named Neal Adams. Miller eventually worked for DC Comics and Marvel Comics. At Marvel, he became a regular artist for many different titles. He even drew the famous character Spider-Man for a short time. These early jobs helped him learn how to be a professional storyteller.

One of his biggest successes was his work on the character Daredevil.

When Miller started, the character was not very popular. Miller saw that a blind hero could be very interesting in a visual medium. He worked with an editor named Denny O'Neil to change the series. Miller began writing and drawing the stories himself starting in 1981. During this time, he created the popular character Elektra. He also added martial arts and ninja groups like the Hand to the stories. This made the character much more exciting for readers.

Miller has also created many famous characters and stories of his own.

He even wrote scripts for science fiction films like "RoboCop 2" and "RoboCop 3." His many different projects show how much he can do in the world of art.

Because of his talent, Miller has received almost every big award in the comic industry. In 2015, he was put into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame.
