Film

A film is a type of art. It uses moving images to tell stories. It can show feelings or big ideas.

Films are made in two main ways. Makers can record real people with cameras. They can also use animation, which is making drawings move.

How do films move? They are made of many still frames. These frames flash very fast. Our eyes keep a tiny image for a split second. This makes us see motion instead of flashes.

Early movies were silent. People played music in theaters to set the mood.

Later, new tools let films have sound. These were called "talkies."

Sound lets movies show speech and music. This makes the stories feel even more real. Films are a way for all cultures to share. They can be seen all over the world. Some use subtitles to help people understand the words.
