Ways of celebrating vary greatly depending on where you live. In Nepal, Hindus and Newars celebrate Kushe Aunsi. This festival follows the lunar calendar and falls in late August or early September. Children honor their fathers by putting a tika, a mark, on his forehead. They also give him sweets, gifts, and delicious food. In return, the father gives blessings of good fortune to his children.
