Many people love her art because it is bold and beautiful.

To make her art, Esther uses a very interesting way. She often uses a paintbrush made from chicken feathers. Her designs use white lines to create shapes. These shapes might look like chevrons or go diagonally across the surface. Traditionally, Ndebele people paint these designs on adobe walls. Esther changed this by painting on new things like canvas and metal. She even uses beads to sign her name with the initials "EM."

Esther began her journey as an artist a long time ago. She was born on November 11, 1935, on a farm. She grew up in the Mpumalanga region of South Africa. Her mother and grandmother taught her how to paint. In Ndebele tradition, young girls learn to paint this way. They prepare to decorate the outside of their homes after they marry. This training started for her when she was only ten years old.

Her career has taken her to many different places. In 1989, she became famous in Paris at a big art show. People there even built a replica of her house for her to paint. In 1991, she was chosen by BMW to paint a car. This was a huge honor because she was the first woman to do it.

Today, Esther's work connects her culture to the whole world. She has worked with many famous brands like Fiat and Rolls-Royce. She even helped design sneakers and special vodka bottles. She wants to teach others, so she started an art school in her backyard.
