Engineers use science and math to make things work better. They design many parts of our world. This includes big bridges and fast cars. It also includes tiny electronics and new materials.

People have been engineers since ancient times. They used six simple machines to build things. These tools include the lever and the wheel.

Ancient people used these tools to build the pyramids. They also built great temples and water paths.

Later, new ways to get power changed everything. People used wind and steam to move machines. The steam engine gave much more power than animals. This helped build big ships and railways.

Today, engineers use computers to help them. They use software to design and test new ideas. They must also follow a code of ethics. This means they work to keep people safe. If a product fails, they use forensic engineering. This is a way to study what went wrong.
