She loved using bright, bold colors. She did not like plain rooms. Instead, she used large patterns on walls. One of her favorite patterns was the cabbage rose. This was a floral fabric that many people bought.

Draper made many big hotels look beautiful. She worked on the Carlyle Hotel in New York. She also designed the Sherry-Netherland. One of her most famous jobs was at The Greenbrier. She changed the whole resort in 16 months. She used 40,000 gallons of paint for that job! She even designed the menus and uniforms there.

She had a special way of mixing things. She might put stripes next to flowers. She used black and white tiles too. This look is called the "Draper touch." She believed bright colors made people happy. She even told people to paint their front doors red.

Her style helped start the Hollywood Regency style. This style uses grand and shiny details. Many modern designers still study her work today.
