She was known for her Art Deco style. This style uses smooth and polished shapes. She often painted rich people and their faces. She also made many paintings of people without clothes.

Tamara lived in many places. She was born in Warsaw. Later, she moved to Paris to study art. In Paris, she became very well known. One of her most famous works is a portrait of herself. In this painting, she sits in a racing car. She wears a leather helmet and gloves.

Life was not always easy for her. During World War II, she moved to the United States. She lived in places like Los Angeles and New York. Later, she moved to Mexico. In her later years, she began to paint in a new way. She used a tool called a palette knife. This made her paintings look different and fuzzy.

People lost interest in her work for a while. But in the late 1960s, people loved her style again. This was a new interest in Art Deco. Today, many people still value her art.
