They were known for their beautiful vocal harmonies and energetic stage shows. The group helped shape the sound of modern R&B music. They also helped bring rap-singing to a much wider audience. Many people love them for their themes of female empowerment. They are considered one of the most influential groups in pop music history.

The group's journey began in Houston, Texas, in 1990. They started out as a group called Girl's Tyme. The members practiced their dance routines in backyards and at a local hair salon.

During the summer, they attended a special "boot camp" to train their voices and dancing. They even opened for famous R&B singers to gain experience. Over time, the group changed names many times. Eventually, they chose the name Destiny's Child in 1996.

Success did not come without many changes to the group. The original quartet included Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett. In 1997, they signed with Columbia Records and released the hit "No, No, No." Later, Roberson and Luckett left the group due to internal conflicts. They were replaced by Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin. Franklin left after a few months, leaving the final trio of Beyoncé, Rowland, and Williams.

It featured number-one singles like "Bills, Bills, Bills" and "Say My Name." Their third album, Survivor, was released in 2001. That album included the very popular song "Independent Women Part I." This song stayed at number one for eleven weeks in a row. They also released a Christmas album called 8 Days of Christmas in 2001.

The group achieved incredible success throughout their career. They sold more than 60 million records all over the world.
