Today, many Clydesdales are used in parades. They are also used as carriage horses. Some famous teams work for a brewery. These are known as the Budweiser Clydesdales.

Clydesdales have a very special look. They often have white markings on their faces and feet. They also have long hair on their lower legs. This hair is called feathering.

These horses have changed over time. In the 1920s, they were small and compact. Later, breeders chose taller horses for shows. Some large males can stand over 183 cm tall. They are very strong and have many muscles.

In the past, many horses were used in the First World War. Later, machines began to do farm work. This caused the number of horses to drop. Some groups say the breed is still at risk. There are fewer than 5,000 Clydesdales in the world.
