He is best known for his work with Warner Bros. Cartoons. He helped create many beloved Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies characters. These include Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Porky Pig. He also created Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner.

His work brought joy to people all over the world. Many people consider his cartoons to be some of the best ever made.

Chuck learned to draw through a very unique way of life. His father had many business ventures that did not succeed. When a business failed, his father gave the family stacks of unused paper and pencils. Chuck and his siblings used these supplies to draw constantly. This gave him a huge amount of practice with high-quality materials. He once joked that he had already made 200,000 bad drawings before he even started art school. This helped him build the skills needed for a long career.

He worked his way up through many different jobs in animation. He started as a cel washer, which involves cleaning clear sheets used for drawing. Then he became a painter of black and white and color art. He also worked as an in-betweener. An in-betweener is the person who draws the small steps between the main drawings. This makes the movement in a cartoon look smooth. He eventually became a director at the Leon Schlesinger studio in 1938.

During his career, Chuck worked on many different kinds of projects. During the Second World War, he directed Private Snafu cartoons for the military. He also worked with the famous author Dr. Seuss. Together, they made television versions of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and Horton Hears a Who!.

After leaving Warner Bros. in 1962, he started Sib Tower 12 Productions. There, he produced new Tom and Jerry cartoons for MGM.

Chuck Jones received many high honors for his amazing talent. He won Academy Awards for cartoons like The Dot and the Line in 1966. He also won two awards for his work on shorter films. In 1996, he received an Honorary Academy Award from the film industry. Many experts have praised his skill at different studios. His cartoon "What's Opera, Doc?" was even ranked as one of the greatest of all time.
