It sits on the island of Luzon and has seven different provinces. These provinces are Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales.

The region also includes two highly urbanized cities named Angeles and Olongapo. San Jose del Monte is the most crowded city in the whole area. Because it has so many provinces, it is a very important part of the country.

The land in this region is very special for farming. It contains the largest plain in the entire Philippines. This flat land is perfect for growing crops. Because of this, the region produces most of the country's rice supply.

People have given it a famous nickname: the "Rice Granary of the Philippines." This name shows how much food comes from these fields. The wide, flat spaces make it easy to farm large areas.

Many different groups of people have lived here for thousands of years. Researchers believe the Aeta people are descended from the earliest human migrations. These migrations happened around 40,000 years ago.

Later, other groups like the Austronesian peoples arrived about 7,000 years ago. Groups such as the Kapampangan, Sambal, and Sinauna also lived in southern Luzon. Over time, these people moved and settled in different parts of the region. They met and lived alongside other groups like the Tagalog and Ilocano settlers.

History shows how the borders of these provinces changed over time.

In 1571, the Spanish established the province of Pampanga. Other provinces like Bulacan and Zambales were created in 1578.

Bataan was established later, on January 11, 1757. Nueva Ecija became its own regular province on April 25, 1801. Tarlac was the last province to be created in the region in 1873. These changes happened as different groups of people moved and settled the land.

Today, the way people speak in Central Luzon tells the story of its past. Many different languages have shaped the region. Tagalog is now the common language used by many people. In the northern areas and south central Zambales, Ilocano is very common.

This happened because many Ilocano settlers moved to these areas in the 19th century. Some people even speak two languages, like Kapampangan and Tagalog. The region is a mix of many different cultures and histories.
