Today, the sport is more organized. There are rules for the age and breed of the camel. There are also different classes for the races. Some races happen in Australia. The Camel Cup is a big event there. It has market stalls and fun things to do.

Camels are very fast. They can run at 65 km/h in short sprints. They can also keep a steady speed for an hour. In the past, children were often used as jockeys. This was because they are light. This caused many problems and injuries. Now, many countries have banned child jockeys. In the UAE and Qatar, people use robots instead. These are small, remote-controlled robots. They sit on the camel to help it race.
