They lived in North America and Asia. These dinosaurs were part of a group called oviraptorosaurs. Like their relatives, they had long necks and short tails. They also had feathers on their bodies.

Some members were very small. One was like a turkey. Others were very big. The Gigantoraptor was a huge member of this group. It could grow up to 30 feet long.

Anzu was also much larger than a human.

Their jaws were very special. The name Caenagnathus means "recent jaws." This is because their jaws looked like modern birds. Their jaws were long and thin. They were also hollow and filled with air. This made them light. This shape helped them catch prey quickly.

Their pointed beaks could even help them slash at prey. They lived until the end of the Cretaceous period. Then, they vanished along with all other non-avian dinosaurs.
