This field covers many different parts of the industry. At the high school level, students often take a course called Business Studies. This subject combines many topics like finance and marketing. It also includes economics and how to manage people. Some schools teach accounting or economics as separate subjects. This gives students a more technical way to learn. Many countries offer these classes. These include Australia, Canada, India, Nigeria, and the United Kingdom.

In college, students can earn an undergraduate degree. Most people earn a bachelor's degree in business or management. These programs can be very broad or very specific. A broad program might be a Bachelor of Business Administration, or BBA. These programs teach how different parts of a company work together. Students practice making decisions through case projects and internships. They might also talk with experts from the industry.

On the other hand, subject-specific programs focus on one area. These are often more focused on theory. Even these students still learn basic things like marketing and statistics.

There are many different types of business degrees. For example, a Bachelor of Commerce focuses on wide ideas and concepts. A Bachelor of Accountancy is a special degree just for accounting. Some students might even study economics. Economics is actually a social science. In the United States, these degrees are often found in liberal arts colleges. There are also degrees like the Bachelor of Business Science. This is an honors-level course that uses a lot of math. Students in this program must take a full year of mathematics.

After college, some people go to graduate school. They work to earn a master's degree. One very common degree is the Master of Business Administration, or MBA. Many MBA students already have two or three years of work experience. Other master's degrees do not require work experience first. For instance, a Master of Science in Management is often for research. A Master of Engineering Management is for people with an engineering background.

These programs help people learn to lead teams and solve problems.

Learning in graduate school uses many different methods. Students listen to lectures and work on team projects. They also use a special way of learning called the case method. In this method, students act like the boss. They must make choices using limited information. This is just like a real business issue.
