A sister is the female version of a brother. People sometimes call close friends "brother" to show love.

Long ago, a thinker named Aristotle wrote about brothers. He said older brothers have a big job. They should show the younger brother how to act well. The younger brother might copy these good acts. These habits can stay with a person for a long time.

Scientists have studied how brothers act. They found that brothers who are very close may take more risks. This is not seen in other types of siblings. Some studies also look at how brothers affect girls. Having an older brother may change when a girl starts her period.

Some girls with a twin brother feel he is like a male version of themselves. This is because they are so close in age.
