Johnson's early life involved living in several different countries. He was born on June 19, 1964, in Manhattan, New York City. His father, Stanley Johnson, studied economics at Columbia University. His mother, Charlotte Fawcett, was an artist. The family moved to the United Kingdom in September 1964. They later lived in Washington, DC, and Connecticut. The family returned to the UK in 1969 to live in Somerset. As a child, Johnson was quiet and studious. He also had several operations to insert grommets into his ears due to deafness.

His time in office was marked by significant controversy and scandal. During the pandemic, a scandal called "Partygate" occurred. It was found that parties were held at 10 Downing Street during COVID-19 lockdowns. This included Johnson, who received a fixed penalty notice in April 2022. Later, in July 2022, members of his government resigned. This happened after news broke about his appointment of Chris Pincher. Johnson remains a highly debated figure in British history. Supporters praise his wit and his ability to win elections. They credit him with "getting Brexit done" and supporting Ukraine. Critics, however, accuse him of being dishonest and elitist. A 2023 investigation by the Commons Privileges Committee found he had lied to Parliament on many occasions. This led to his resignation as an MP in June 2023. His career reflects the intense and often difficult nature of modern political life.
