During his time in the European Parliament, Farage used specific tactics to challenge leaders. In 2005, he helped lead a motion of no confidence against the European Commission president. This is a formal process to show that a group no longer supports a leader. He also requested that the European Commission disclose details about leaders' holidays. This was intended to increase transparency and oversight. In 2008, he remained seated during a speech by the Prince of Wales. This was notable because the rest of the members gave a standing ovation.

Farage's early life and school years have also been a subject of public discussion. He attended Dulwich College in south London from 1975 to 1982. In 2025, several former pupils and teachers published an open letter. They alleged that Farage had engaged in racist and antisemitic behavior during his school years. Some former classmates provided accounts of specific insults directed at them. Farage has categorically denied these allegations. He stated that the claims are made-up fantasies. He suggested that these accusations are driven by political motivations.

At the time of his schooling, staff members also debated his behavior. In 1981, school leaders discussed whether his views should prevent him from becoming a prefect. A prefect is a student given extra responsibilities and authority. He was eventually appointed to the role. Some teachers at the time raised concerns about his views and behavior. Farage later described his younger self as being "spirited" in his defenses. He acknowledged that some of his statements as a student would offend people deeply.
