The Bohai Sea is a part of the sea. It sits in a small area near China. This sea is very shallow. Most of the water is not deep. It is a part of the larger Yellow Sea. The Bohai Sea is also a part of the Bohai Gulf. Many rivers flow into this sea. These rivers bring fresh water from the land. The water in the sea is not very salty. This is because of the river water. The sea is mostly closed in. It has a small opening to the ocean. This opening is called a strait. The Bohai Strait connects it to the sea. The sea is a very important place for many things. It is near big cities in China. People use the sea for many tasks. The water and the land meet in many spots.
