It is a narrow-body aircraft made in Washington, USA. Boeing built this plane to fly on short trips.

It was meant to help with routes that were not very busy. Many different airlines use these jets every day. They have helped move millions of people across the world.

Engineers worked hard to make the plane work well.

At first, they thought about putting engines on the back. An engineer named Joe Sutter changed this idea. He moved the engines to the wings instead. This made the plane structure lighter. It also made it easier to fit six seats in a row. Putting the engines under the wings helped the plane sit lower to the ground. This makes it easier for people to get on and off.

Designing the 737 took a lot of careful work.

Boeing started studying the design in 1964. The first 737-100 model took its first flight in April 1967.

It began flying for Lufthansa in February 1968. The longer 737-200 model started flying in April 1968. Boeing used parts from the older 727 to build it quickly. This helped the new plane get ready for service sooner. Many people preferred the longer 737-200 model for its extra space.

There are four main generations of the 737.

The first was the Original series with the 737-100 and 737-200. The second was the Classic series, which launched in 1980. The third was the Next Generation, or NG, which arrived in 1997. The fourth is the 737 MAX, which started in 2017.

These planes can carry between 85 and 215 passengers. They use different types of engines to fly efficiently. Some models are even used by the military or for business.

This plane is one of the most successful in history.
