The land changes a lot from one side to the other. In the north, huge mountains rise very high into the sky. In the south, the land turns into lush, green plains. One of the most famous peaks is Gangkhar Puensum. It is the highest mountain in Bhutan. It is also the highest mountain in the world that no one has climbed yet.

Life in Bhutan is tied to its traditions. Most people live in the capital city, which is called Thimphu.
