The air is mostly made of hydrogen and helium. A gas called methane is also there. Methane makes the planet look blue.

The atmosphere has three main layers. The first layer is the troposphere. This is the lowest part. It holds most of the air. It also has many cloud layers. Some clouds are made of water. Others are made of ammonia. We think there are clouds made of hydrogen sulfide too. The second layer is the stratosphere. This layer is above the clouds. It has thin haze in it. The third layer is the thermosphere. This is a very high layer.

Uranus has very fast winds. They can move at 240 meters per second. Only one spacecraft has been close to the planet. It was Voyager 2 in 1986. A new mission will launch in 2031. This mission will help us learn more about the air on Uranus.
