Many people call Arak the "Industrial Capital of Iran." This nickname comes from the many big factories found there. These plants make things like steel, chemicals, and heavy machines. Some places, like the Iranian Aluminium Company, are very large. These industries provide nearly half of what the country needs for certain jobs. The city also makes 80% of the energy equipment used in Iran.
