In some places, people call them units.

Some apartments are very small. A studio apartment has just one main room. This room works as a living room and bedroom. It also has a small kitchen and a bathroom.

In Korea, people call these "one rooms."

Buildings can be tall or short. High-rise buildings are very tall. They often have elevators to help people move. These tall buildings are sometimes called towers.

Low-rise buildings have fewer floors. Some low-rise homes are called garden apartments. These are often built around green spaces or lawns. Some people live in apartments they rent from a landlord. Other people own their own unit. This might be called a condominium. In a condominium, people share the cost to fix common spaces.
