Making a musical is a big job that involves many steps. First, a composer writes the melodies and the music. Often, they work with a lyricist who writes the words for the songs. Lloyd Webber worked closely with a writer named Tim Rice on many early projects. They wrote shows like Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This show used many different styles of music, such as rock'n'roll and country music. Later, he worked on shows like Cats using the poetry of T. S. Eliot.
