Muslims believe in a life after death. This is called the Akhirah. It means the "hereafter" or the end. This belief is one of six main ideas in Islam. It is also shared by people in Judaism and Christianity.

Many people think the world we live in now is called the dunya. The Quran says the dunya is like "now," while the Akhirah is like "later." Some say the dunya is a place of distraction. Others say it is a place to do good work.

Before the final day, there is a stage called Barzakh. This is a barrier between our world and the next. It is a time after death but before Judgment Day. Some believe people feel a taste of heaven or hell during this time.

One day, the world will end. The Quran says the earth and mountains will shake. A trumpet will sound to signal this big change. Then, people will rise from their graves for Judgment Day. God will judge people based on their choices. He looks at the reason why they did things. People may go to Jannah, which is a beautiful heaven. Others may go to Jahannam, which is a place of hardship. Both places have many different levels.
