It first came out in 1938. It introduced Superman, a great hero. He is also called Kal-El. Before he was a hero, he was a bad man. Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster changed him. They made him a force for good.

Superman has many cool powers. He has X-ray vision to see through things. He has super-hearing to hear far away. He can even use super-breath. He also has a secret home called the Fortress of Solitude.

Superman is not alone. He has many friends. Lois Lane was in the very first issue. Jimmy Olsen first appeared as an office boy. Later, we met Supergirl. She is Superman's cousin. She also has powers.

There are many villains too. Lex Luthor is a smart scientist and a big enemy. There is also Brainiac. Some stories even show a Bizarro World. These stories have lasted for a very long time. They help us see how heroes work.
