World language

language culture Maturity 11-13 Next article →

A world language is a way to talk that reaches many lands. It helps people from different places share ideas. These languages are used by many different groups. Some people use them even if they are not from that land. This is called a lingua franca. A lingua franca is a tool for talking between different groups.

English is the most common world language. Some experts say it is the only one. It sits at the very top of the global list. Other languages are also very important. These include Arabic, French, Russian, and Spanish.

Experts look at many things to find a world language. They count how many people speak it. They look at how many countries use it. They also see if it is used in science or business.

Some languages are special for other reasons. Arabic is used by Muslim communities for prayer. Latin was once a world language a long time ago. There are even made-up languages like Esperanto. These help people from all over the world connect.
