It began in 1892 in New York City. Arthur Baldwin Turnure started it as a weekly paper. Later, it became a monthly magazine. Condé Nast bought it in 1909. He helped it grow into a big business. He even started versions in other countries.

People read Vogue to learn about style. It covers beauty, clothes, and culture. It also shares news about runway shows. Some editors used it to teach people about taste. The magazine shows what is new in the world of fashion.

Many famous people appear on the covers. You might see models, singers, or actors. In 1989, the singer Madonna was on a cover. This was a big deal for the magazine. In 1992, a special issue had ten supermodels on the cover. That issue sold more copies than any other.

Today, Vogue is a global brand. There are 28 different versions around the world. Some are in Italy, France, or Japan.
