As a child, he loved to draw. He spent a lot of time at museums to learn about art. This helped him make many new styles of clothing later in life.

Lagerfeld worked for many top fashion houses. He worked for Chloé and Fendi. At Fendi, he made a famous double F logo.

In 1983, he joined Chanel. At that time, the brand was not doing well. Lagerfeld helped it become a huge success again. He used the interlocking CC monogram as a pattern for the brand.

He was known for his own unique look. He had white hair and wore black sunglasses. He also wore fingerless gloves and tall collars.

Lagerfeld was very good at changing his style. Other designers called him "chameleon-like" because he could do many different things. He made clothes for men and women. He even designed crystal art. He worked until he died in 2019.
