They were called the Vienna Circle. This group met from 1924 to 1936. They met at the University of Vienna. Moritz Schlick led the group. The members were many different kinds of experts. They were scientists and math experts. Some were also logic experts.

The group had a special set of ideas. This was called logical positivism. They wanted to make philosophy more scientific. They used modern logic to help them. They wanted to study science in a new way. They also looked for a way to find meaning. They wanted to join all sciences together.

The group shared their ideas with the world. They wrote books and journals. They also held big meetings in many cities. They met in places like Paris and Cambridge. Some members also started a group called the Ernst Mach Society. This group gave public talks to help people learn.

Things changed for the group in the 1930s. Many members had to move to new lands. This was due to politics and war. In 1936, Schlick was killed. This ended the group in Austria. Many members moved to English-speaking places. Their ideas helped change how people study science.
