He was born in Prague in 1920. His family was Jewish. During a hard time in history, he lost his family. This loss made him feel like he had no single home. He said he had many homes inside him. He lived in many places, like Brazil and France.

Flusser wrote many books and essays. He studied how people use language. He also wrote about art and science. One of his big ideas was about photography. He thought photos changed the world. He said a camera is not just a tool. A camera has its own rules. These rules shape the final picture. He called the camera an apparatus. He also wrote about the person using the camera. He called that person a functionary.

Flusser was a busy man. He worked as a journalist and a teacher. He met a Brazilian thinker named Vicente Ferreira da Silva. They had deep talks about life. Flusser died in a car accident in 1991. He was still writing and sharing ideas until the end.
