Uzbek has a very long and interesting history. It grew from an older language called Chagatai. This older language was used by famous leaders like Timur. Many great writers used Chagatai to share their ideas. For example, Muhammad Shaybani wrote poems in this language long ago. His poems are still kept in museums today. Even the poet Turdy spoke about how all Uzbek tribes are one people. He said they all share the same blood.

Writing Uzbek has changed many times over the years. For a long time, people used the Arabic script. Later, they used a Latin-based script called Yañalif. From 1940 to 1992, the Cyrillic script was the official way to write.

You can find Uzbek being taught in over fifty colleges around the world. People also enjoy watching Uzbek media, like Uzbekfilm, in many countries. It is a language that brings many different cultures together. Whether in a classroom or on the internet, it is growing fast.
