It focuses on using new tools to change the human condition. People want to use technology to live much longer. They also want to make our minds work better. Some think we could become "posthuman." This means we would have much greater abilities than we do now.

Many people have shared these ideas for a long time. Ancient stories talked about finding ways to live forever. In 1957, a biologist named Julian Huxley used the term "transhumanism."

Later, a man named FM-2030 taught about these new ideas. In 1990, a thinker named Max More helped grow the movement. He helped create a clear set of ideas for it.

Not everyone agrees with these views. Some people worry about the dangers of new tools. They wonder if these changes are safe or fair. They also talk about risks like very smart machines.
