Three fights were to win new land in Inner Asia. The most important was against the Dzungars. A general named Zhaohui led the Qing army. He fought many battles to win this area. This helped secure the borders of Xinjiang. Later, two brothers led a revolt in Altishahr. Zhaohui and other generals fought to stop them. They won many battles, such as the Battle of Qurman.

Other fights were on lands the Qing already ruled. One fight was in Jinchuan. The people there lived in stone towers in the mountains. This was a very hard and costly war. Another fight was in Taiwan. A group called the Tiandihui started a revolt. A general named Fuk'anggan used 20,000 soldiers to stop them.

The Emperor also sent armies to Burma. These four wars were very difficult. Many soldiers died from fighting and sickness. The Burmese people defended their land well. This war helped set the border between Myanmar and China.
