It is also called salty tea. People make it with water, milk, tea, and salt. Some recipes use green tea. Others use black tea. Some people even add butter or fat. This makes the drink feel rich.

You can also add fried millet, which is a small grain.

In Mongolia, milk is very important. It comes from cows, sheep, goats, or camels. Many people use fresh, whole milk. To make it taste authentic, some use cream too. Some tea comes in a hard block. This block is made of tea leaves and stems. You chip off pieces to use.

This tea is a big part of life. People drink it at meals or all day long. When guests visit a ger, which is a Mongolian home, they get tea. It is served with a bowl of snacks. You can eat it with buuz, which are dumplings. You can also eat it with boortsog, or fried biscuits. It is a special way to show kindness.
