The book follows a special cycle of ideas. It starts with God. Then it moves to the world and people. It talks about Christ and holy rites. Finally, it returns to God. The Summa is very large. It has three main parts. It also has many questions and small sections. One question might ask if God exists. Another might ask about how people should live.

Thomas used ideas from many different people. He used the Bible to help him. He also used ideas from a thinker named Aristotle. He called Aristotle "the philosopher." Thomas wanted to mix these old ideas with his faith. His work was so great that it helped other writers. One poet used his ideas in a famous poem. Many people still use the Summa to study today.
