Sulpicia was a poet in ancient Rome. She lived a long time ago. She was active when Domitian was emperor. We do not know much about her life. We know her name from other writers.

One writer named Martial wrote about her. He praised her. He said she was a faithful wife. Sulpicia was married to a man named Calenus. They may have been married for 15 years.

Sulpicia wrote poems about love. She was very honest about her feelings. She wrote about her desire for her husband. This was very rare for women in her time. She is the only woman from that era linked to comedy.

Most of her work is gone. Only two lines of her poetry survive today. These lines are called a fragment. They were found in a note by a scholar.

Some people thought she wrote a long poem called the Conquestio. This poem was about Greek thinkers being sent away from Rome. Most scholars now think a different person wrote it later. They think it was written in the fourth or fifth century. Even so, her name stayed famous for a long time.
