The Dover Strait is a part of the sea.

It sits between Great Britain and France. It is a very busy place for ships. Many big boats sail through it every day.

Long ago, this place was not water. It was a land bridge. This land joined the two lands together. Then, big floods changed the land. The water washed the land away. This made the strait.

The sea floor is made of chalk. This makes the white cliffs.

You can see these cliffs from far away. You can even see them on a clear day.

There is also a tunnel under the sea. It goes deep under the ground. People can use it to cross the water. It is a different way to travel.

Many sea animals live in the water here. Some fish find calm spots to rest. It is a special home for them.
