Steph and his younger brother, Seth, practiced together on their backyard court. During his father's time with the Toronto Raptors, the family lived in Canada. There, Curry played for Queensway Christian College and a club team called Toronto 5–0. These experiences allowed him to compete against other players who would eventually reach the NBA.

Before entering the NBA, Curry played collegiate basketball for the Davidson Wildcats. During his sophomore season in 2007–08, he led the team to a significant run in the NCAA tournament.

His career with the Golden State Warriors has been defined by historic statistical milestones. He became the NBA's all-time leader in three-pointers made, surpassing Ray Allen. In 2016, he set a record by making 402 three-pointers in a single regular season. He also holds the highest career free-throw percentage in NBA history at .912. Furthermore, he holds an NBA record for making at least one three-pointer in 268 consecutive games between 2018 and 2023.

Throughout his career, Curry has navigated various challenges and successes. He led the Warriors to a record-breaking 73 wins in a regular season during the 2015–16 period. Although the team lost the 2016 NBA Finals after leading 3–1, he helped the team win back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018.

After struggling with injuries in 2020 and 2021, he returned to win his fourth championship in 2022. That same year, he earned his first Finals MVP award after leading the Warriors past the Boston Celtics.

Beyond his physical skills on the court, Curry has maintained a strong connection to his roots. In May 2022, he completed his degree, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Davidson College.
