Sitting Bull fought to keep his land. He did not want to sign treaties. He did not want to leave his home. In 1876, he had a special vision. He saw many soldiers falling into his camp. This vision came true during a big battle. His people and the Cheyenne defeated the 7th Cavalry. This victory was led by George Armstrong Custer.
