This shape has six sides. We call it a hexagon. Each side is very long. One side is longer than the Earth! The hexagon is a jet stream. This is a fast wind made of gases. The wind moves at 360 kilometers per hour.

David Godfrey found the shape in 1987. He used views from the Voyager mission. Later, the Cassini spacecraft studied it. The color of the hexagon can change. It used to look blue. Now it looks more golden. This may happen because of sunlight and haze.

A storm sits inside the hexagon. This is called a vortex. Scientists think the shape forms near wind boundaries. In a lab, scientists made similar shapes. They spun liquid at different speeds. This made six-sided shapes too. On Saturn, the hexagon stays in one place. It does not shift like other clouds. This makes it a very special part of the planet.
