Ancient people used different names for them. The Persians called them "Saka." The Greeks called them "Scythians." The Babylonians called them "Cimmerians." Today, scholars use "Saka" for the groups in the east. They use "Scythian" for groups in the west.

In the 2nd century BC, things began to change. A group called the Yuezhi pushed the Saka out. This forced the Saka to move to new lands. Some moved to northern India. There, they were called the Indo-Scythians. Others moved toward China or the Parthian Empire. They left behind many treasures in special tombs.

These finds help us learn about their lives.
