\n\nLearning ballet involves many careful steps. One very famous way to learn is the Vaganova method. This way of training is named after Agrippina Vaganova. It helps dancers learn how to move with great control. Dancers also learn to tell stories through their bodies. They practice for many years to become experts. This hard work makes their performances look amazing.

\n\nRussian ballet has a very long and interesting history. Some say it was performed as early as 1581. Later, Peter the Great helped Russia open up to the West. He wanted to create a new and magnificent Russia. In 1734, Empress Anna appointed Jean-Baptiste Landé as a dancing master. By 1738, he led a new ballet school. This helped the art grow among elite families.

\n\nIn the past, ballet was very close to the Tsar. Dancers were like servants to the Imperial court. There were strict rules for how to act in the theater. For example, men would stand until the Tsar entered his box. During curtain calls, the ballerina bowed to the Tsar first. This was followed by the theater director and the public.
