One famous painting shows three legendary heroes from these myths. These tales help people remember their history and shared legends.

History shows that the government sometimes changed how stories were told. In the 1920s, people studied folklore very closely in two main ways. The formalist school looked at the art and structure of the poems. The Finnish school looked for how legends moved between different regions.

Later, the Soviet government began to control these stories. They wanted folklore to support their new way of life. They even created new stories called noviny. These new tales used old styles to tell modern stories about the Soviet Union.

Today, the impact of Russian culture can be seen in many places. It reaches into theater, cinema, and even space exploration.
