He was a teacher and a leader. He studied how lands and power work together. He was the first to use the word "geopolitics." This is a way to study how a country's land affects its power.

Kjellén thought a country was like a living thing. He called this an organism. He said a state grows and changes over time. This helped people study politics in a new way. He wrote a famous book called "The Great Powers" in 1905. This book shared his big ideas about the world.

He also worked in the Swedish Parliament. He served in both the First and Second Chambers. He was a member of the "Young Right" group. This group wanted to make reforms. Kjellén also wanted to make the military strong. He thought a big war might happen soon. He also spoke up for Sweden during disputes with Norway. Kjellén died in 1922 from heart disease. He is buried in Uppsala. His work helped make political science a bigger field in Sweden.
